Commercial engineering case study
Chemical storage tanks and their reinforced slabs impose substantial permanent loads. The foundation also has to resist lateral forces and maintain alignment around sensitive industrial equipment. For this Burlington Street project, ordinary residential pile details would not have been appropriate.
Postech Hamilton installed P658 battered helical piles with welded rebar connections. The battered orientation increased lateral resistance, while the welded reinforcement integrated each pile with the 48-inch concrete slab to form a coordinated industrial foundation system.
