Built with purpose

Stable support in a swampy environment

Traditional excavation and concrete work would have been disruptive and impractical in the water-saturated site. Screw piles reached stable soil below the soft surface layers while limiting disturbance to vegetation and terrain.

The completed system provides dependable long-term footing for public pedestrian traffic and the lookout structure.

Wetland foundation case study

Stable public access with minimal terrain disturbance.

The Flamborough boardwalk crosses swampy, water-saturated ground on its way to a scenic lookout. A conventional excavated foundation would have displaced more soil, complicated access, and increased disturbance in the environmentally sensitive setting.

Helical piles allowed the foundation points to be installed precisely through soft surface layers into stable bearing soil. The system created dependable support for pedestrian traffic while helping preserve the surrounding vegetation and natural drainage conditions.
